April "Blog" Circuit Meeting

Hello Everyone,
It was great to see so many of us at the conversation with the Bishop in Merced. Cindy, how are you feeling? I hope that you are on the mend, we lifted you in prayer last week when we all met.

Remember, no meeting at New Cuyama this next week!

I have a meeting with all of the circuit leaders and the Bishop next week in Sacramento, so we decided to cancel our April meeting.

I started this blog as a way for us to stay in touch or discuss topics without the confusion of a long email thread. Another way we can use it is to have a virtual meeting, which is what I would like to do for April.

On Saturday Bishop Brown described vital churches as those with; intentional mission, passionate worship, leadership growing in faith and ability, looking with hope to the future, vital small group ministry. He asked the clergy,
  • How will we live into practices that revitalize the church?
My question to our circuit is,
  • How can the Kern County Circuit support one another in this effort?
  • What practices in our circuit are signs of vitality?
I hope we will all respond to the post and use it as a forum for discussion in place of our April circuit meeting.

First Blog

Hello Kern County Circuit

Welcome to our blog. I want to thank Mariah, amazing daughter of our soon to be leaving us Scott Allred, for helping me discern how to get this blog up and going. We are going to miss both!

After our circuit meetings I will post any lingering discussion items, links, etc. that may have come up. My hope is that you too will use this as a forum to share with others in the circuit any news, links, ideas for helping each of us in the mission of the church "To make disciples for Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world."

In April, in lieu of a face to face meeting, we will meet on the blog and respond to a couple of reflection questions which I will post by the first of the month.
